Six Million Work Period Videos
My weekly videos, combines the original scanner portrait of my right forefinger, the digital artwork made using cropped areas of this picture, and the audio track of the corresponding prose poem I make using a USB microphone and Audacity audio editor and recorder. The format of these videos challenges the expected relation between narrative and image as the prose poem juxtaposes the digital artwork. I forge a series of rhythmically moving visual images from my two-dimensional digital artwork using panning and zooming effects and transitions of four different software: Windows Movie Maker, Movavi Video Suite, Wondershare Filmora, and PowerDirector 365. These videos synthesize the parts of my work into a new vibrant whole that, through the ritual of their making and the energy of their motion, remembers the dead.
